• No medal as Briton crashes in final
• Li Jianrou stays upright to take gold
Elise Christie crossed the line in second place in the women's 500 metres short-track speed skating but was disqualified after a crash immediately after the start that took out two of the other four competitors.
Li Jianrou of China took the gold after managing to avoid the mayhem, with Arianna Fontana of Italy being awarded silver and Park Seung-hi of South Korea the bronze.
Starting in lane three, after a false start by Park, Christie came flying out at the start of the race but then appeared to cut across the line of Fontana, taking both of them out along with Park.
Park and Christie picked themselves up and the 23-year-old Scot, whose speciality is the 1000 metres, overtook Park to cross the line second but, inevitably, she was swiftly dropped to fourth place by the judges. Reported by guardian.co.uk 6 days ago.
