This is Nottingham -- AN ELDERLY man has been taken to hospital after a crash with a police car. The collision happened just before 2.30pm this afternoon in Green Lane at its junction with the A453 in Clifton. The 95-year-old driver of a Vauxhall Corsa has been taken to the Queen's Medical Centre for treatment after the collision with a police branded Volvo. No one else was injured in the crash. The outbound lane of Green Lane was closed while the scene was examined and the carriageway cleared. Wendy Sheldon, 49, of Clifton, said the build up of traffic was as far as the eye could see. "It's taken me two hours to get from Clifton Bridge into Clifton," she said. "It's been really bad and I think it would have been quicker to have got out and walked. "There were emergency services coming through - cars were at a halt in the middle of rush hour so it will affect a lot of commuters." Green Lane has now been re-opened heading out of Nottingham. The AA are reporting delays of up to 23 minutes. Reported by This is 1 day ago.
