A junction in a village was partially blocked at lunchtime following a collision between a car and a cyclist. The accident occurred at about 12.30pm in Sutton Lane, Cadeby, west Leicestershire. The road was closed briefly in both directions at the Church Lane junction. Police would not give any information on the extent of the cyclist's injuries.

FIREFIGHTERS freed one person from a crashed car in the early hours of today. Just after 1am two fire crews from Cinderford went to St White's Road where they found three people who had freed themselves from the car but one other person still trapped inside. All of the people were treated at the scene by the ambulance service. The crews ensured the area was safe and disconnected the vehicle's battery, and spent a total of on hour at this incident.
