![Sister pays tribute to teenager Megan Marchant who was killed in M1 crash]()
This is Leicestershire -- The sister of an 18-year-old girl killed in a crash on the M1 has paid tribute to a "unique" teenager who loved life. Jodie Marchant said her family had been left devastated following Megan's death in the collision on Saturday. Destiny James Keeling, 14, of Braunstone, was also killed in the crash, which happened when the car the pair were travelling in left the motorway in Leicestershire and crashed into trees on the embankment. Paying tribute yesterday, 22-year-old Jodie, a mother-of-one from Syston, said: "My sister was unique, one of a kind. She lit up every room that she went into with her crazy ways. She loved life." Jodie said the family was still trying to come to terms with her sister's death. "We were really, really close," she said. "She was really close to all of her family and her boyfriend. "We couldn't believe it when we found out – it still hasn't really sunk in. We're distraught. "Mum's the worst, obviously, but she's finding the strength and ways to cope, like we all are. "It was a tragic accident. We all miss her. We would do anything to get her back." Jodie said her two-year-old son, Carter, was helping the family cope. "He's been a blessing – he's too young to understand, so he takes our mind of things," she said. "He's helping the whole family a lot. We've got so many photos and videos of Megan, we will make sure he remembers his aunt." Megan, of Thurmaston, was a recently-qualified hairdresser who studied at Brooksby Melton College. She was in the car with her boyfriend, Wade James Keeling, 18 – Destiny's brother – and their mother, Anastasia James, who was driving. Both Anastasia and Wade suffered broken bones and bruising. Anastasia's sister, Angelica, has said the cause of the crash was a blown-out tyre. A fund-raising page set up on Monday to help towards the cost of Destiny's funeral has already raised more than £2,500 – half of the target. Meanwhile, the inquest into the deaths of the two teenagers was opened at Leicester Town Hall yesterday. Coroner Catherine Mason adjourned the hearing to a date to be set. Police are investigating the collision. Both bodies are set to be released so funeral arrangements can be made.
