This is South Wales --AN EYE-WITNESS has described the moment a light aircraft crashed at Swansea Airport.
The accident happened at around 11.30am on Friday morning when the plane, believed to be a Russian Yak 52, came down on one of the airport's runways.
The pilot was uninjured in the accident and it is thought the plane's undercarriage failed as it came into land. The eyewitness to the crash, who didn't wish to be named, said: "I was driving past the airport, coming over the common, and saw the plane coming over, past the threshold of one of the runways.

"The plane was coming in and it had lost its undercarriage. It was coming down the runway and sparks were coming from the tail.
"I pulled in and I actually know the pilot who was involved. Fortunately he wasn't injured but he was shaken up and obviously it did spoil his day.
"A Yak 52 is a Russian military plane. They are heavy and it is not uncommon for them to lose their undercarriage."
The fire service were not needed to attend the accident.
In May 2012, another pilot escaped unhurt after his two-seater aircraft came down on Fairwood Common moments after taking off from the Gower airfield.
