Sandbach teenager dies of car crash injuries This is Staffordshire --

A TEENAGER has died in hospital four days after being involved in a car crash.

Eighteen-year-old Stacey Wright, of Deans Lane, Sandbach, had been at Wythenshawe Hospital since August 5 after her blue Fiat car collided with a silver Subaru.

She was travelling along the A50 Holmes Chapel Road, at Over Peover, at around 5pm when the accident happened and was taken to hospital by air ambulance.

But Stacey, pictured right, died from her injuries on Friday.

Now Stacey's family and friends have paid tribute to the popular and 'gorgeous' girl.

In a statement released by Cheshire Police, Stacey's family said: "Stacey was the best daughter and friend. She never saw the bad in anyone and always had a smile on her face.

"She brightened up everyone's life and had many friends. She is irreplaceable.

"There must have been an angel missing in heaven which is why she was taken."

Stacey leaves behind her parents Karen and Jonathan as well as her sister Michaela, brother Peter and nephew Archie.

Childhood friend JayJay Tunney, of Sandbach, said Stacey will never be forgotten.

She said: "My gorgeous princess Stacey. You had a gorgeous smile and a great, glowing personality. You were outgoing and your kindness will be missed. RIP."

Marie Gould, of Burslem, also paid tribute to Stacey.

"She was so beautiful and will always stay just as beautiful in our minds and our hearts," she said.

Bev Jones added: "I would like to thank Stacey's family for letting me share a small part of her life.

"I will always love and miss her but I will never forget."

Part of the road had to be closed for several hours following the crash while collision investigation work was completed.

The driver of the Subaru, a 72-year-old man from the Knutsford area, remains in hospital with serious injuries.

Cheshire Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision.

Anyone who may have any information can call PC Tony Hayhurst on 101, quoting incident 683 of August 5, 2013.
