A TRAIN has crashed this afternoon into a concrete slab, which it is thought had been deliberately placed on the railway line close to Ifield station. Significant damage was caused to the eight-carriage train, which ground to an immediate halt. Fortunately no one was injured but the crash, at about 2pm, is causing severe delays, with the line between Crawley and Horsham currently closed.
