This is Nottingham -- A MOTORCYCLE passenger who died in a crash has been formally identified. Marcus Karrigan Atkinson died on Saturday when the Honda CBR bike he was riding pillion in left Arno Vale Road, near to the junction of Somersby Road, Woodthorpe, at about 11.25pm. The 29-year-old, from Hyson Green in Nottingham, was taken to the city's Queen's Medical Centre where he was subsequently pronounced dead. A 28-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving has been bailed pending further enquiries. Two other men, aged 29 and 34, were also arrested in connection with the incident. They too have been bailed pending further enquiries. This latest incident comes after a number of recent deaths on the counties roads. In December, the tally of fatalities reached 12 - more than double that of the same month the previous year. Eight people were killed between December 17 and 29, the worst toll of road deaths over a festive period for years.
