![Driver critically injured in car crash on Carmarthen Road, Swansea]()
This is South Wales -- POLICE are appealing for witnesses to crash on a busy Swansea road which left a driver critically ill in hospital. The smash took place on Carmarthen Road — at its junction with Gendros Crescent — at around 9.30pm on Wednesday, and involved a Ford Fiesta and a Saab 95. Officers say the 24-year-old male driver of the Fiesta suffered head serious injuries in the collision and is currently in a critical condition at Morriston Hospital. The female driver of the Saab was also taken to hospital for treatment for back and neck injuries. Two passengers in the Saab and a front seat passenger in the Fiesta suffered less serious injuries. Prior to the collision, the Fiesta was travelling towards the city centre and the Saab in the opposite direction. A South Wales Police spokesman said: "Police in Swansea are appealing for witnesses to a road traffic collision which happened on the A483 Carmarthen Road.
