Road closed for six hours and two injured in three-car A57 Saxilby crash This is Lincolnshire -- Two men were injured in a three-car crash which blocked the A57 at Saxilby for more than six hours. The 32-year-old driver of a white Ford Transit van, believed to be from the Derby area, was taken to Nottingham Queen's Medical Centre for treatment for non-life threatening facial injuries. A second man, a 40-year-old from North Muskham, who was driving a silver VW Passat, was taken to Lincoln County Hospital for treatment to minior injuries. The driver of a black Vauxhall Corsa also involved in the collision, a 49-year-old Lincoln man, escaped injury. It happened at 5.20pm last night near the Saxilby bridge on the A57 Broadholme Lane junction. The road was closed until 11.40pm and diversions were put in place for investigations to take place and to clear the debris from the scene. It caused delays along the A57 west of Lincoln in both directions. Anyone who saw the crash can call the police collision witness hotline on 01522 558855 quoting incident number 299 of January 22.
