This is Gloucestershire -- Heartfelt tributes are being paid to a dad killed in a car crash on the A48. Paul Cooke, 30, died when his Seat Leon collided with trees in Lensbrook, near Blakeney, on Saturday. His devastated family and friends expressed their sadness and remembered the good times and left floral tributes where he died. His brother Dan started a Facebook page for friends to share their memories. "Many people have left such lovely messages on Paul's Facebook page and it's given me and my family some comfort to read your words," he posted. Lisa Morgan, with who Paul had a daughter, said on Facebook: "Paul, I spent the best years of my life with you. "Met you when I was 19 and fell in love with you the minute I saw you. Your cheeky smile and unusual dance moves towards me had me hooked. "All of my firsts were with you, love, engagement, marriage and, of course, our beautiful daughter Lilly-Ann." Diane Smith said: "I feel so lost without my best friend to talk to. You helped me through some of the toughest times of my life, you were always there to pick me up." Josh Portland: "Paul, I am going to miss you so much. "Words cannot describe what a good friend you have been to me. Such great memories from our school days to our amazing nights out." Paul worked at Waterwells plastics factory Rochling. Managing director Mike Knowles said he will be deeply missed. "He was a lovely lad," he said. "He had been with us five years and was very conscientious and reliable. Everyone liked his company – he was a good guy and a key member of the team. "We are all in shock. All our thoughts are with his family." Police said Paul's car left the road in Lensbrook at around 10.45am as he was travelling south on the A48 from Blakeney towards Lydney. The road was closed for investigations to be carried out and since then councillors and residents have called for Gloucestershire County Council highways department to look at measures to make the road safer. The Gloucestershire coroner's office confirmed it had been informed of Paul's death and an inquest was opened and adjourned to a date to be fixed yesterday. At the brief hearing, it was confirmed Paul was declared dead by paramedics at the scene of the crash, from a head injury sustained in the collision. No other vehicles were involved. *Facebook tributes:* Some of the best memories I have of Paul were from when we used to go on nights out in Gloucester. I remember being in Jumpin Jaks with him and they had a buy one get one free drinks promotion on bottles of WKD. So with Paul being Paul he decided to buy five bottles and get five free! Now most people would get those 10 bottles and line them up on the bar or a table and casually drink them but not Paul. He decided he wanted to get on the dance floor and throw some shapes! So what does he do? He carries three in each hand and puts the other four in his coat pockets – genius!! *Stuart McIver* It was great growing up next door to the Cookes. It was great to have so many memories of fun times just hanging out, playing football, going to the Turmut and, of course, those wild summer house parties.
