This is Cornwall --POLICE have finally managed to trace the family of a Launceston man who was killed in a crash on the A30 a month ago.
Cameron Turner is believed to have been killed after being struck by three vehicles near a lay-by on the dual carriageway at Launceston, at around 5.50am on December 22.
The Cornish Guardian reported previously how the police had launched an appeal for information after being unable to trace his next of kin.
A police spokesman said: "Following a media appeal the family of Cameron Turner have been located in Nottinghamshire and spoken to."
Police revealed earlier in the search that Mr Turner had been known in the past as Stuart Long and was born Stuart Froggatt.
Mr Turner was estranged from his family, and had not long been in Cornwall after moving down from the Midlands.
He was both in Sutton-in-Ashfield in 1975 and had lived across the Midlands.
The crash happened between to the turning for Tesco and the Devon border and the inquest into his death was opened and adjourned two weeks ago.
The male driver of a white Peugeot Boxer van, registered to St Columb Major, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and interviewed by police. Aged 50 and understood to come from the local area, he has been released on police bail until March 12.
The other vehicles involved were a blue Peugeot 106, registered to an address in Launceston, and a white Mercedes Sprinter van, whose registered keeper is in Newton Abbot.
The female driver of the Peugeot 106 and both male van drivers were treated by paramedics at the scene for shock.
Mr Turner's death was one of several fatal accidents on the A30 before Christmas.
Andrew West, from Teignmouth, was also killed when his Jaguar left the road as he was driving to a Newquay toy fair. Reported by This is 9 hours ago.
